Dr. Laura, born in Brooklyn, NY, attended SUNY, Stonebrook in Long Island for her BS in Biological Sciences. She attended Columbia University for her Master’s degree. Dr. Laura later continued her studies, earning her Post-Doctoral Certification in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling.

Dr. Laura is married to Dr. Lewis G. Bishop. Her son Deryk is a paratrooper in the U.S. Army.
